EA Ball 2012

One of my favorite parts of being a military spouse is attending the formal balls. We are now connected to a specific military community. The ball we attended this year was the AirborneElectronic Attack Ball, or AEA Ball. This year's ball took a little more preparation than in previous years. I was 17 weeks pregnant and had to find a dress that would fit. I had a dress I was thinking would work, one with an empire waist. I took it to a girl from church who sews professionaly to get the hem shortened, but I got to her house and could not zip the dress up! I was so embarassed! She was able to zip me up, but I felt like a sausage. She was a sweetheart because she went upstairs and found all of her formals to try on. Together we found one that fit. She was even willing to temporarily take the dress in and shorten the straps so I could wear it. I added the white jacket that I had from a previous dress.

The evening of the ball came and we headed off to the flight hangar for the special event. We located our table, and Aaron's fellow classmates arrived with their wives and the real fun began.

The evening at the ball was winding down, but we were still enjoying ourselves. We headed back to our house, changed into comfy pajamas and played a few card games.

This ball was more laid back and smaller than the Navy birthday balls we've attended. We had so much fun though! I am looking forward to next year already!

How fun! I just love getting all "gussied up" and going to formal dances. It's always nice to have an excuse to be all fancy. :) Glad to see you guys are doing well!
