We live in the south, where the temperatures are high and afternoon rainstorms are expected. The basic principles of having a garden grow are to expose a plant to the sun and to keep it watered. Well, if you magnify the amount of water and sun your garden growth can be measured exponentially.
The sun has been shinning constantly down here, and the humidity has been intense. Mix that with daily afternoon rain, thunder and lightening storms, and you now have your own 'miracle grow' formula.
Take a look at this grass in our backyard! Don't be fooled by the height of our grass. The lawn was mowed 2 weeks earlier.
The grass was so tall, thick and wet (heavy) that our first lawn mower could not cut the grass. We had to invest in a more powerful mower.
I wish I had an after photo, but it was so HOT!! For the past few weeks we have not had temperatures drop below 90 degrees ... and that's not including the humidity for the heat index temperature.
