Memorial Day: Do We Understand?

It has just been a week since we recognized Memorial Day. For a long while now, the true meaning of Memorial Day has been on my mind. Not the great sales, bbq's with friends or a day spent at the pool or lake. Memorial Day is a day set aside for us to remember those who have fallen while defending our freedom.

Before we became a military family I remember Memorial Day as a three day weekend when I did not have to go to school or work. Now that my husband is in uniform this day means something more to me.

We tend to get caught up in our own world and forget what the United States of America stands for. We are blessed and we need to remember that!

I did not visit the headstones of our fallen heros or visit a family who has lost a loved one defending freedom this Memorial Day. However, I desire to be a better example in the future.
