Oh, Allie...

The start of this year has been a rather simple one. We are just enjoying the every day adventures. Aaron is still in his Primary Flight School. He has had numerous simulator events and tests, and for the next few weeks he will be flying around in practicing instrument procedures. Aaron has had many late night study group sessions, early mornings for class and his own personal study time mixed in there too.

I feel lame posting so much about Allie, but really, she's been our source of etertainment. Allie LOVES to dig! Mostly she digs under the fence into our neighbor's yard. They have a lab puppy that she just wants to play with. We've tried to break her of her digging, but she is just so social. Sometimes we just stick her in the neighbor's yard if we need to leave for an errand. She has talent in the digging department. We think she will soon be asked to help dig a tunnel to China. We've tried cayenne pepper, burying her poop in her holes and most recently we tried using chicken wire. She has been able to get through them all and we find her next door playing with "Olive" the puppy. Or maybe she just loves to get a bath so she digs. We have no idea.

She recently graduated from PetSmart's 'Puppy Education' course. Allie learned basic commands such as sit, stay, come, etc. We've signed her up for 'Intermediate Education.' That will start this week. She's doing well with what we teach her, minus the digging.

Saturday was a gorgeous day! We took Allie for a walk along the beach here on base. She loves it! She'll run with us and will chase any form of stick you throw. We don't keep her on a leash, but she'll stay close to us.

One thing that Aaron and I did without Allie was to take a ride for dessert! We took an afternoon motorcycle ride to Alabama (we only live 10 minutes from the border) for some Coldstone Ice Cream!
